Foreign vs Local Caskets: Understanding the Difference

Imported caskets frequently use steel or heavily lacquered hardwood shells with sealed lids and swing-bar handles. Locally crafted caskets are commonly built from solid timber with panelled sides and moulded edges.

Finish quality is where the difference is most visible: mirror-gloss lacquers, figured grain and cast ornaments on the imported side; warm hand-applied stains and polished hardware on the local side.
